"This need to live sheltered from a world that had made her suffer so much, to feel the protection, the security of a world of her own, these feelings would dominate her entire life" - George Choukas
Suzanne Lopata painted her family and familiar world, first limited to the sphere of her daily life and then to her immediate environment. Her work composes a personal diary, an interiorized reappropriation, sublimated by the simplicity of her gaze, of cherished people, things and places, as a reaction to her childhood traumas.
