The University of Fine Art of Malaga presents the exhibition "Anagnorisis-La Trama" by María Dávila.
The works of this series are based on archives extracted from cinematographic and documentary sources from the Francoist information program NO-DO. María Dávila aims to reveal the analogies that underlie the two forms - fiction and document - as long as that they have a narrative construction and thus highlight the contingent and interpretive character of our entire relationship to reality: an imaginary morphology which points to the fragmentary and arbitrary nature of any claim to objective knowledge of what we see. Thus, the allusion to the very support of representation, the dialogue between cinema and painting, between pause and movement as between word and image, come together in this same quest to rethink our usual way of consuming the visual.
