Ivan Lubennikov⎜Ryaba the Hen

Madeleine metro station⎜Paris

In 2007, RATP (the company of Parisian public transport) donated a metro entrance by Hector Guimard to the city of Moscow for the Kievskaya station.

In gratitude for this gift, the city of Moscow commissioned a monumental work to Ivan Lubennikov. Installed in March 2009, "Ryaba the Hen" is made up of 20 polychrome glass panels, covering an area of 40 m², and a golden egg weighing more than 80 kilos.

Inspired by Russian folk tales, the iconography illustrates major episodes in Russian history.
